Larder

A free WordPress block theme for food shops, farm stores, and organic markets. Built for WooCommerce, edited entirely in the Site Editor.

Why Larder

Most WooCommerce themes try to be everything for everyone. Larder picks one job: stores that sell fresh goods. Grocery shops, farmers markets, bakeries, organic food stores, anywhere the product photography matters and the layout should get out of the way.

The homepage comes ready with a hero banner, product category cards, featured products, sale items, and new arrivals. Every section is a block pattern you can rearrange or remove in the Site Editor, no code needed.

It's built to stay fast. Fonts are bundled and served from your own site, so there are no requests to Google Fonts or any other third party. That keeps pages quick and avoids the GDPR headaches of external font loading.

Larder is free, open source, and hosted on WordPress.org. Looking for a dark blog theme instead? Have a look at Kairo.

Frequently asked questions

Is Larder free?

Yes. Larder is free and open source under the GPL v2 license. There are no paid upgrades or locked features.

Does Larder require WooCommerce?

It activates without WooCommerce, but the theme was designed around it. The homepage patterns, product grids, cart, and checkout all expect WooCommerce, so install it to get Larder working the way it was built.

How do I customize the homepage?

Open the Site Editor under Appearance and edit the Front Page template. Every section is a block pattern, so you can rearrange, remove, or modify them without writing any code.

Does Larder load fonts from Google?

No. Lora and Source Sans 3 are bundled with the theme and served from your own site. There are no third-party requests, which helps with both GDPR compliance and page speed.
